Looking for a supersize apartment fit for a large family in Athens? Acropolis View Alphaplus might be your perfect penthouse. With 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and an open-concept, soccer field-sized (almost) living area, up to 12 people will find plenty of room here - all with a lovely view of the Acropolis and Mount Lykavittos.

A TERRACE TO REMEMBER

The landscaped terrace (shared with the next-door Beta Penthouse) is our pride and joy. It has outdoor dining, a BBQ grill, and nap-worthy lounging sofas that take full advantage of the view. At nightfall, the terrace view glitters with city lights and moon-washed Mount Lykavittos. We'll even cater a full breakfast or host a wine-tasting for your group out here. Talk to us!

And ask us about renting both AlphaPlus AND Beta to accommodate an even larger group of up to 24 people - with this arrangement the gorgeous terrace is all yours.

AN AMERICAN-STYLE RENOVATION

In Greece, the definition of "rehabbed" is a bit different than ours. For Greeks it means "slapped on a new coat of paint/installed new kitchen cabinets." But Greek Vacation Rentals' version of rehabbed means totally transformed. At the Acropolis View Alphaplus Penthouse, upgrades include all-new, American-style plumbing (TP flushing encouraged!), plus brand-new appliances and Sealy Posturpedic mattresses imported from the US and wrapped in buttery-soft, high thread-count linens.

Foodies love our kitchen, which we stock to the heavens with small appliances, cookware, and other gadgets. Even a multi-course holiday feast is no trouble here! After a long, leisurely shared meal on the terrace, a dishwasher is on hand to help with clean-up.

We also have a full-size washer and dryer for your clothes, too - a rarity among Athens vacation rentals.

3 BEDROOMS/3 BATHS

We have 3 bedrooms, with beds for 10 people plus a sofabed for 2 more. The master suite has a King bed and a twin, making it a great option for a family with a youngin' they want to keep close. The indulgent master bath has an American-style bathtub/shower combination with an extra deep jetted tub and hydro massage shower jets.

The 2nd bedroom is also family-friendly, with a queen bed and two twins. A 2nd bathroom on the main floor has a walk-in shower. All bathrooms have Organic Greek bath products and fluffy robes.

Upstairs, a 3rd bedroom - also a suite - has a queen bed, a twin bed and a walk-in shower in the attached bath.

DOWNTOWN LOCATION

Our downtown residential neighborhood is in the thick of things! Here, locals sip coffee under shade trees at the cafes and watch their kids play in the "platieas" or "squares," then browse the farmers markets for dinner ingredients.

From the AlphaPlus Penthouse, you can walk to the historic center of Athens - or take the trolley just 4 or 5 stops - and experience some of the best museums in downtown, like the Benaki, the Cylcadic, the National Art Gallery, as well as Syntagma Square and the National Gardens.
As Greek Vacation Rentals third property, we really found our footing with the AlphaPlus Penthouse! We consider it the culmination of years of learning what our guests want from an authentic-yet-indulgent Athens vacation.

This was the most AWESOME ATHENS ACCOMMODATIONS !

Date of Stay:

I have been to Athens over 16 times in my life, and these are the best accommodations I have ever stayed in! They are spacious and beautiful with views of the city and Acropolis, wrap around glass windows and balconies, great rooftop terrace, air conditioning, Internet, cable TV, free phone to call home to America and family in Europe. Awesome beds! Outstanding kitchen! Lidl grocery store across the street. Spotless and well stocked. Next time I will plan my excursions and day trips sooner so that I get to book the amazing Nick and Nadia! Carole and Basil were a wealth of information on getting around Athens and arranging my itinerary to Lesvos. Can't wait to return!

Beautiful apartment and a wonderful visit!

Date of Stay:

It's a beautiful place. We rented two of the units, the two-bedroom, downstairs, and the single bedroom upstairs. There's a spiral staircase that connects them, but they can also be rented separately. The lower two-bedroom unit has a slim (6 feet wide?) wrap-around terrace with nice view, but less space to sit. The lower unit is where the kitchen and living room are located. Upstairs, there is a large, gorgeous patio. However, you have to go up the spiral staircase and through the upstairs bedroom to get to the patio, so if the upstairs bedroom occupants are sleeping, that is an issue. Everything is very clean, nice and well-provisioned. We had what we needed for limited cooking (breakfasts). The beds are comfortable, but not top-of-the-line. We never could figure out the washer and drier (directions would be nice). Also, we had no directions on what to do with our trash, so it just sat around in a bag in the living room. The elevator is a small affair (only 2 people), and it is a bit tricky to operate, but once we got used to it, it was one of the charming touches of the place. Several of our group ended up walking up and down the six flights of stairs each time to avoid elevator delays. We felt like Niko was overpriced for trips around town and less than timely, so we hired a private car or took cabs. Arriving, you absolutely must use him because he shows you the operation of the elevator and the basics of the apartment, all of which would have been baffling without his instruction. We hired a private driver back to the airport. All-in-all, it was a very good experience, which could be improved with a few additional instructional details provided and a more reasonably-priced driver.

Excellent location and amazing views.

Date of Stay:

Our family of 5 (children 14, 12 and 9) had a wonderful stay in Athens. The location was great and the views from the rooftop were amazing. We enjoyed watching the sunset over the Acropolis. The kitchen was perfect for morning breakfast and snacks. In addition, having 3 bedrooms allowed our 14 year old daughter her own space. Carole assisted with the coordination of all our tours which were great. We did a food tour as well as half day Athen tour and a trip to out of town to visit some historical sights. We we highly recommend this property for your stay in Athens.

5 Stars

Date of Stay:

Carole and her entire team did a great job with our trip. The location was great and fit our family of 5 perfectly. We enjoyed dinner on the terrace of the apartment while watching the sunset.

Perfect location!

Date of Stay:

Our stay was for ten days in Athens. We thought maybe we had made a mistake on the length, but as it turned out there is so much to do and see that we could have stayed longer. Our host, Carole, arranged all of our tours ahead of time with Nick our driver and Nadia and Maria our tour guides. They were all fantastic. The accommodations were also fantastic. Every morning we were able to go right downstairs to get great Greek coffee and the bakery was just a block away. There were also many choices for food within walking distance or a short cab ride away. Our sons were able to also walk to several museums from the condo when we didn't have a tour arranged for the day. We would highly recommend this location for anyone visiting Athens. Thank you Carole, Nick, Nadia and Maria.

Clean, roomy & comfortable

Date of Stay:

The beds were nice, the furnishings comfortable, and someone was always available to answer any questions we had. The rooftop view and patio furnishings meant we could top the evenings off at home after a day of touring, hiking, and general bumming around this beautiful city.

Great property, wonderful management team!

Date of Stay:

The information provided to us prior to arriving was superb. Carole's recommendations for tours and local restaurants were spot on. The tours arranged through Carole were excellent. When the weather was too hot for us to go on the walking tour, Carole provided a recommendation for an alternative tour and made all the arrangements last minute. Our tour guides spoke excellent English and were extremely informative. We had an issue with lost luggage and Nadia made herself available to meet the Delta Rep so we didn't have to spend a vacation day waiting for the missing luggage. Nadia (the local property Manager) was a ROCK STAR! She brought us a fan late at night due to the high temperatures as well as had the AC checked out / repaired on a Sunday. The overall attention to detail and helpfulness was excellent. We had 4 couples and couldn't have asked for nicer accommodations.

The AlphaPlus Acropolis Penthouse was perfect for our family stay in Athens

Date of Stay:

We arrived earlier than we had indicated, but Nadia was able to accommodate us quickly and efficiently. The penthouse is located in a very busy part of Athens, but it is easy to find and reasobly easy to get to if you are driving. The penthouse is large, clean with large terraces on two floors. The top floor terrace is well designed with comfortable seating and nice potted flowers. The views of the Acropolis and lycavetos hill as well as major parts of Athens are beautiful, especially in the evening hours. The bedrooms are large and comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped for a large family's needs. There is plenty to do in the immediate area including nice restaurants and shopping. The location is also very close to most attractions including museums, the parliament and many others. The only negative was finding parking, but we were able to solve the problem by returning the rented car and taking cabs or walking. We used Nick's service to go to the airport and we found him helpful and very charming. Carole has done a great job organizing everything well for her guests. We found dealing with Carole easy, efficient and very professional. We would recommend the AlphaPlus Acropolis penthouse to any family visiting Athens.

5 Stars

Date of Stay:

Carole and Basil's apartment is just lovely, relaxing, and homey, with incredible views of the city and the Acropolis. It's located in a non-touristy, very safe neighborhood, central to everything. Carole and Basil are both responsive, open to questions, and will do everything to make your stay the best. Highly recommended.

A vey nice apartment clean, well furnished...

Date of Stay:

Best trip ever!

Date of Stay:

My husband and I are avid travelers and this trip to Greece was amazing! You can't beat the scenery and the food BUT the best part of our trip was meeting Carol. Carol owns and rents the condo we stayed in and she is the best travel planner I have ever worked with. From arranging picking us up at the airport, suggesting monuments to visit, to recommending restaurants and setting up a foodie tour and getting us back to the airport - everything was flawless and made our trip the best it could be. Our Acropolis View condo was fabulous. Perfectly clean, comfortable beds, great showers, you can drink the water out of the faucet, the living area was spacious, everything was well appointed. The best part is the beautiful view of the Acropolis from the rooftop porch/deck area. We had dinner there several times and watched the sun set and the Acropolis light up. The location is perfect, walking distance to almost everything and anything you would want to eat or see. I highly recommend this rental property but mostly, if you are going to Greece, get a hold of Carol. :)

5 Stars

Date of Stay:

The place was amazing, and I was blown away with Caroles hospitality. She provided us with the best travel tips, nice restaurants and places to see. We had the best holiday in Athens - thank you Carole for that ❤

When 5 stars isn't enough

Date of Stay:

Carole and her team earned 10 stars from our well-satisfied group of 6 travelers. They earned an additional five stars for being excellent travel guides. The apartment was clean, roomy, and well-furnished, with fabulous views of the Acropolis (especially lit up at night) from the outdoor penthouse balcony. Transportation was handled seamlessly; Tony picked us up at the airport, took us on an excursion to the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion to see the spectacular sunset, and delivered us to the port when it was time to leave. Nadea welcomed us at the apartment, and took us on an extensive food tour of the Central Market area, introducing us to Greek foods and shops we would never have found on our own. They made great recommendations for restaurants and sites to visit (including when to visit and how to get there). Attention to detail – Business cards with house address and map on back for taxi rides home, laminated sheets with directions for sampling ouzo (with two bottles provided in the fridge), directions for using the gourmet coffee maker, restaurant tips, etc. They even left snacks, coffee and a bottle of delicious red wine as welcome gifts for our arrival. I highly recommend staying here, both for the facilities and the “extras” Carlole and her team provide.

5 Stars

Date of Stay:

Carole and Basil's place was perfect. The space is extremely light and spacious and a really comfortable place to relax. The balcony and roof terrace make the apartment feel enormous and really transform the space with an amazing view. The hosting was hands on and intimate without being intrusive. The area has everything that is needed without being too hectic and I will definitely rent this place again if I return with a large group. Thanks!

Great Apartment in Athens!

Date of Stay:

Our group of ten stayed here in June 2014. We were 8 adults and 2 children. This apartment was great--it was wonderful to have a kitchen and laundry facilities, t.v. and internet. The owners also provided a delightful "welcome basket" with some treats to try--a lovely touch. We also had access to a rooftop terrace--beautiful and wonderful additional space to hang out. It was a little cumbersome that to reach the rooftop terrace, you had to walk through one bedroom. But that is a very minor issue. If you book one of the properties from this group, I would HIGHLY recommend booking the ATHENS FOODIE TOUR, which was a walking tour of Athens. The tour guide, Nadia, was truly delightful and gave a great tour. It was one of the highlights of our trip. We also used the services of driver Paul to take us to Cape Sounion...I would also highly recommend him and visiting Sounion. It was beautiful. Overall, this is an excellent rental for a group, especially if you want to experience a true slice of life in Athens.

Our family of nine including the baby and toddler, loved it.

Date of Stay:

Thank you for the great advice you provided for our vacation to Athens, including the lovely accommodations at the Acropolis View Alpha Plus, tours, and transfers. Your place is conveniently located just a few minute taxi drive or short walk from the main sites. The flat was spacious, well kept, and comfortable, especially the terrance. What a view! Our family of nine including the baby and toddler, loved it. We were in town for a family wedding. I was happy that some of our extended family could join on the tours that you arranged, including the Acropolis, Poseidon and Foodie tours. This made them extra fun. All of our family commented on how good the tours were, the guides helpful and flexible, thank you! The Acropolis Tour was a perfect start, and the guide was great. Our Poseidon tour was fun and relaxing, thanks to a great guide, Frank! We loved getting to go to the beach, what a good choice. Nadia did a fabulous job on the Foodie tour with our large group of 14. This was the highlight of our vacation!! The pace was perfect as it allowed us to stroll through Greece neighborhoods, nibbling on numerous interesting foods. We especially appreciated how relaxed this tour was, allowing us to visit with our family along the way, almost like a walking family reunion! We loved the breakfast pastries and Greek coffee. The meat and fish markets were fascinating. The tour included a magnificent feast at a great restaurant, just awesome. Please thank Nadia for us! Lastly, I want to complement the drivers that provided our transfers. It was nice to know that this was all taken care of ahead of time. We'd highly recommend your place - 5 star!

“Family and friends loving Athens”

Date of Stay:

Our five night stay in the Acropolis View A&B was wonderful. All thirteen of us were very comfortable with the accommodations. We travelled from the United States and for the first time that all 13 of us have been together considering that we reside in Las Vegas, NV, Reno, NV and Houston, TX. We all enjoyed the city of Athens, the culture, the locals and of course the food! The penthouse is located near the center of Athens that it was easy to get to the Acropolis, Acropolis Museum, Temple of Zeus, and the old Olympic Stadium as well Plaka (souvenir shopping). I have extended family that lives in Greece so it was easy for us to get together. I want to thank Carole and Basil for taking the time with all the questions I had prior to arrival as well as thank Nadia for her help while we were staying at the penthouse. Nine of my travelling group visited Greece for the first time and they enjoyed it so much that they want to return. Thanks again for a wonderful experience from beginning to end from all of us. Tom.

The Apartment made the vacation

Date of Stay:

Without a doubt the location, amenities and the spaciousness of the apartment really changed a trip into a true vacation. All the comforts of home with a panoramic view of Athens, including the Parthenon. Frankly, it was better than the comforts of home, with everything a traveler would want in this nicely appointed apartment. It was a cool oasis for relaxing or re-energizing after an amazing day of touring or exploring Athens on our own. If you like to cook the kitchen is fully equipped and supermarkets three blocks away. If you don't like to cook, there are plenty of restaurants within a block or two to eat there or grab takeout and eat on the apartment's terrace. Breakfast for us was simply choosing among the three bakeries within a ten minute walk to pick up fresh, delicious baked goods. Having traveled several times in Europe before, I know the beds can sometimes be "utilitarian" at best. The beds at the apartment were perfect, however. Comfortable, spacious and just right for a great night of sleep or just a power nap before going out for the evening. Carole, the owner, was extremely helpful in planning all aspects of our trip. She arranged for Athens area tours (described in detail other reviews) and airport transfers as well as gave expert advice on our far flung travels, including Crete. She is a gem. When ever we had any questions about the apartment, the tour arrangements, or general questions about Greece, Carole or Nadia (the local manager) were ready with answers. We had a few last minute changes and Nadia handled them with aplomb. If you have plans to visit Athens, this is the place to stay.
